Idyllic Candles aims to evoke memories and moments of pleasure while enjoying our candles. Your safety, children and pets is our priority, this is why we recommend following our candle use, care and safety guide for longevity and a cleaner burn of your candle.
- Always keep candles out of reach of children and pets and never leave a lit candle unattended.
- Place your candle on a flat and heat resistant surface and keep away from flammable sources and drafts.
- Never touch or move a candle while lit or when the wax is in a liquefied state.
- Burn candles in a well ventilated area, this will ensure the candle does not exhaust the oxygen from the room.
- Do not place candles under shelves as heat produced from a candle can heat the surface above.
- The first burn of your candle is the most important. Allow the wax pool to reach the wall of the glass jar before extinguishing, this will take approximately two hours to do so. This will set the memory of the candle for future burns allowing it to burn evenly. Each burn should not exceed 4 hours.
- Keep wicks trimmed to 6mm on the first burn and periodically thereafter. A Wick Trimmer is a good idea as they are designed to easily trim the wick and catch the debris to effortlessly discard.
- Keep the wax pool clear from wick trimmings, matches or debris at all times. This is a must as not following these instructions may lead to a “wax pool fire” where the entire candle may ignite and shatter the glass jar.
- When it’s time to extinguish the flame of your candle use a Candle Snuffer as this is the safest way to prevent hot wax from splattering and the wick coming off centre.
- Never use the lid or liquid to extinguish the candle.
- As your candle nears the end, discard when there is 10mm of wax remaining. Never burn your candle past this point as this too can cause the glass jar to shatter.
- Most importantly remember candles have a naked flame, treat them with caution and keep your candle in sight while burning.
- When not in use store candles in a cool dry place.
